Hello Everyone.
I found this Miracle brooch today at my local donation store, first I thought Egyptian Revival, but when i read on the maker and style they use most of the time, make more sense to call it Celtic, definitely as a Celtic look after all, and the glass stones(7) that compose this brooch are just outstanding in my opinion.
The brooch is very well made with lot of incised decoration in the Nickel plate base that surrounded each glass stones, mark at the top"Miracle"
The Brooch is 2 inches wide.
Miracle jewellery is a collectable British UK Jewellery brand. The company was started in the late 1946 by A Hill and Company and was based in Birmingham. Taking inspiration from ancient jewellery finds, they became leading British designers of Celtic Jewellery, Sottish Jewellery and Irish Jewellery. They have also made some stunning Mackintosh, Renaissance, Egyptian, cameo and classical lines.
Making their own reproductions of semi precious stones from bohemian glass, they have produced many uniquely coloured, beautiful jewellery pieces over the years. Other companies associated with/bought by Miracle are Quarrier Ward & Ward Brothers, producers of Jewellery marked Mizpah and Sol D'or. In 2013 Miracle closed its Birmingham base, its ownership was taken over by St Justin and its now based in Cornwall. We stock a wide range of vintage Miracle jewellery, including stunning Miracle Celtic necklaces, Scottish style Miracle brooches, Celtic themed Miracle brooches, medieval style Miracle brooches as well as Miracle bracelets, earrings and rings.
Nice find-the colors work so well together.
Lovely piece- I've a Celtic pendant very like this, except it's in a Celtic cross formation with little coloured agate stones on it.
