Here are two versions of vintage penguins from Pilgrim Glass of Ceredo WV; the 4" black with white "snow" brushstrokes on tummy is ca early 1970s, the 3 1-2" amber with label is ca 70s-80s, item #913 in catalog
These penguins have lovely fluid shapes, I've never seen glass penguins before so that's a first....These two are so plump and jovial looking- like real penguins. In the last picture the two of them seem to be gazing upwards- I imagine them on an ice sheet fascinated by the Northern Lights!
Great creatures.....beautiful photos!
Cannot get enough birds !~
Thank you all for the penguin love

Lauren I'm so happy to show you a couple glass penguins, think these two look rather well matched as they came from the same maker, so it is cute that they are looking upward - a great thought that they are seeing the Northern Lights on an ice floe, wonderful ideation, thank you for the lovely words
Thank you sklo42 for the super compliments, this penguin pair sort of did all the photo work for me - just tilting them a little and they seem to be having a conversation! I was very lucky to find the dark snowy one which is quite rare, luckily I have some old Pilgrim catalogs to make positive i.d.s, as many folk you buy from have no idea how special they are
Always gotta love the birds Phil, first and foremost they are my faves! Wonderful comment, thank you so much
Penguins are forever ... nice find Jenni '-))

Sincere thanks aura for the kind love, very glad you liked my penguin duo
Very pleased you liked my glass penguins Sean and truly appreciate the love and thoughtfulness
Lol Thomas, I love it! They do look like they're talking to each other so thanks for the great line, another one might be, why do you have spots but I don't! They are one of my fave pairs, I moved recently and fortunately they made it in one piece, whew
Many thanks Ted for the kind & thoughtful love, I am really glad you enjoyed this penguin duo
Are these signed? I have one similar but, it has a signature and the number 94 that I can’t figure out.
Hi Voodoogrl76,
I have several Pilgrim glass animals and to my knowledge they did not sign or date them - the reference for these penguins comes from their illustrated 1960s-1970s catalog copies where they are pictured. They would often put a label on their animals as well. Many other companies produced similar glass penguins, and if yours are etch-signed into the bottom, this is often seen in Swedish glass animals (they made alot of penguins), and I assume yours was made in 1994
