I have this sitting on my mantle. I am 'debating' selling it, but it's so gorgeous on the mantle when the sun shines through the cobalt glass. I've done some research and have not been able to find what it may be worth. I don't know if it is a chalice, an ink well or a pickle castor. I do know it is made of spelter and patent #2221 JB on bottom, that it is a rare Jennings Brothers item, however, I cannot find out the year it was made, what it truly is, and if it is worth anything??!! It looks quite gothic, not sure if it is Victorian-Era or possibly Art-Noveau, but the fruit scrolling on the spelter lends to a victorian or noveau feel. Please help me!! All information is appreciated...Thank you so much!!

I do NOT have this listed in my shop for sale any more..I have already found that worthpoint info.. as I said..it is on my mantle...because I DO NOT WANT TO SELL IT NOW!!! That is why I initially had this listed for $998...such a high price!! I'm looking for information on these items, NOT someone to 'nit pick' my details and be so rude. I'm genuinely looking for information on these items, so unless you know exactly the year this was made or have informative info for me, rather than criticize the little that I know about the piece, I prefer not to receive any more comments from you. Thank you sir, Have a great day!!!

If my intentions were to try to sell this on this site...don't you think I should have included a link to my online shop?? My opening statement was rather honest if you ask me...YES...I DEBATED SELLING THIS, as you said...'I did have this listed at one time' I also had the Bible listed...AT ONE TIME... Try another search, since you like playing detective so much, rather than helping people to get info...you will see that this item or the Bible are no longer items that I am selling in my shop. I'm merely looking for information, not disrespectful criticism from someone!!!!!

Thank you again...I found that information as well...that is how I knew it was made of spelter...I'm really trying to find out what exactly this is...A pickle castor?? An ink well? A chalice??? I'd love to know what this was made for (ie; it's purpose)...Jennings Bros. made many items, but I have yet to find many of these... Thanks again, I appreciate that you have taken the time to look at my items, comment and even look for information for me..I did not mean to get upset with you the way I did, I just did not understand your comments seemed to be a little rough...I'm not trying to sell on here....just trying to gain some knowledge. VERY curious of the purpose or what this 'chalice' really is, other than merely a decorative piece, obviously it held something in it at one point.

Maybe it was for religious purposes. To hold the Holy Communion wafers in church.

I have three pairs of embossed Jennings brothers candlesticks. One pair was my mothers and were her sabbath candle sticks. I have one extra candlestick and am looking for a mate. I have given each of my daughters a pair of these candlesticks. The candlesticks are used to light the candles on our sabbath and hollidays.

I have a JB vintage metal urn vase JB 1936. I can't find the value of it anywhere. Does anyone know how to find the date of the molds and value of JB pieces? It was given to me by a friend when her grandmother died because she didn't like it. I just found out that the JB is Jennings Brothers and 1936 is not the year it was made but the "item" number. If anyone knows anything about this particular piece, your information would be greatly appreciated. I am a novice collector.

I know this is an old post. But would be very curious if anything was resolved. We have 2 of these in our store and have been trying to figure out what they are and value. We do not have the Jennings Bros stamp. I've found on one antique site it listed as a musical candy dish. Why musical? No idea. Any help would be appreciated.
