My mother told me that this should be valuable some day!
I have no idea as to that but it was a gift from her sister who was a international musician and traveled the world .

This is Rudolstadt of Germany. As there is no country of origin on the base, it is probably late 19th century. Quality varies on their pieces, but I would say yours is very well made. Here is a link to a great source for German pottery, specifically to this maker
