I'm new here, but I've got a mystery. I purchased this perfume bottle at auction. It was in a 2 piece lot with this one identified as a Donald Carlson (and the other identified accurately as an Abelman). As far as Carlson goes, I don't even know if there is a catalog of his older works. But, the color is definitely that opaque, well-known, cherry red! The threading done rather well - not like an amateur. Finally, the Amber stopper and base have some kind of blue opalescence to it. The Problem is that it is unsigned. And I know that Carlson supposedly signs everything. any clues from anyone?

I am in a glass group with Donal Carlson. Is it OK if I copy your pics and post them there to ask him?
    2. welzebub welzebub, 6 years ago
Also, how tall is it with the stopper?

The group also has many other contemporary artists that may also recognize the work if one of them did it, or they may know who did.

Absolutely, please do share! I would like to know the artist if possible and I realize that there are other people with far more knowledge than I.

The height to the top of the stopper is 8". 6" to to top of the bottle.

So, with some help, the perfume has been identified. The piece was made by Lundberg Studios in CA. The message I received fro them was:

This is a Red Spider Amphora Scent bottle. We made them in the 80’s.

So there you have it.... A nice perfume for sure!!
