This is another addition to my little collection. I believe the brooch was made of some sort of pot metal and then painted or gilded. There are a few rhinestones missing but I will fix this tomorrow when the light is better. That is easy to do because of my box of "wounded" pieces of jewellery that I keep for repair. One never knows when a broken piece becomes useful for a repair job.
The brooch measures over three inches and is unmarked. I would guess that it dates to around the 1940's.

You are so right, Ms.CrystalShip. It would be so sad if items like this would end up in the dump just because they are no longer perfect.
