OK perhaps not mondo monster but it is still Matchbox Monday. This the improved version of the Foden Concrete truck replaced MB-26 although for some reason not using the same model number. This one is a bit larger, has a windshield, much more detail (the red rear section seen in photo #2) and finally the rotating drum. As seen in Photo #3 there is a hidden set of wheels that turn a gear that turn the drum as the model is rolled across the floor. It does so at a fairly realistic rate. In 1970 when they switched to Superfast this feature was dropped. Always thought they should have left the construction with the regular wheels as mag wheels on a dump truck or concrete truck is a bit silly.
This model was released in 1968 and sold through 1970 a rather short run. The box is an E style box so this model is from 1968. In 1969 it would have had an F style box.
This wraps up this week's Matchbox Monday. We now resume our normal programming.
Things are all good now . The show must go on . I did not miss Match Box Monday
Another colorful Matchbox gem. Cement mixers are some of my favorites along with dump trucks. I didn't realize Matchboxes had the turning drum action as they rolled too.
Thank you very much purvis. I shall try and do Matchbox Monday a bit earlier next week.
Thank you very much Toyrebel. I think I have a lot of Matchbox dump trucks to post. Not many with boxes though.
Thank you
