These dolls are part Hallmark's collectible cloth dolls, part of their 1979 “Famous Americans” Series. I have George Washington Carver and Martha Washington.
They stand about 7" tall and their features and clothing are printed on cotton cloth. They also come in the original box, which represents Tuskegee Institute and Washington's Mount Vernon home.
A woman recently contacted me and said that she saw a feature on the Today show about 10 years ago which claimed that these dolls were worth $100 each then.
Can that possibly be true?
Thanks!
