Emerson was known mostly for inventing Bromo Seltzer but also was involved in many other things in Baltimore Md.(my hometown).
He was once the owner of Brooklandwood Mansion (north Baltimore) now a private school, also formerly owned by Charles Carroll signer of the Declaration of Independence. Brooklandwood springs is where the story of these cobalt soda bottles came from under Emerson's direction. All made at Maryland Glass with the familiar M in a oval G stamped on base 1911-1920. The larger Perfection Ginger Ale was no doubt used at Emerson's Hotel downtown Baltimore as well as the Brooklandwood Springs Water bottle (left). Citro (picture of a lemon) has also been seen in large crock dispensers with spigot. Unlike the cobalt Bromo bottles which I found in just about every bottle dump I dug in, these soda's are quite a bit harder to obtain. Once found a citro in 3 pieces on a farmers property as a teen back in the early 80's and I glued it together for display until I could buy this one many years later.
Very, very nice. Thanks for sharing!
Gorgeous set of glass bottles, the cobalt are striking
