Loetz "dunkelblau m. Goldfäden" Ausführung 178 Vase, PN III-1160, ca. 1920

This Ausführung is most commonly found in this vivid dark blue, but it is occasionally found with a copper red ground, usually with gold "fäden" or wavy threads. They are sometimes found with applied blue feet or appendages that give them a "rocket-like" appearance. This one is Production Number III-1160, and stands about 6.5" tall. It's a very striking and beautiful piece, but the thing that shocked me the most about it was when I exposed it to long wave UV (black light). The dark blue glass flouresces bright vivid orange and yellow except for near the top, where it emits a dull green glow. Just another thing for me to geek out over. :)
