This 3 1-2" feathered mask brooch has white pave rhinestones framed in goldtone as well as textured side feathers, in a goldtone setting. By Canadian vintage jeweler Butler 5th Avenue aka Fifth Ave Collections, marked Butler on back, ca 1990s

I have a few brooches by Butler. I usually prefer claw set rhinestone pieces but I think that the quality of Butler pieces is really excellent. I recently wanted to "harvest" a few rhinestones from a broken Butler brooch to fix another brooch and I had to use brutal force to get the stones out of their setting! I think this speaks to the quality.
Not familiar with Butler. This would be great for a Masquerade ball!
This is lovely, it's design is so simple and understated which is what makes it better, Love these masks anyway-they remind me of when I was a child and my grandmother came across two of these real Venetian carnival masks in a charity shop, not realising I was terrified of them and wanted to hang them on the wall, I wouldn't have it and for some reason she thought putting them high up on a bathroom wall(don't ask) was the best place for them except I refused to use the bathroom because I was convinced those expressionless black eyes could see me....she had to get rid of them in the end! Nowadays though I'm sorry she did because I can appreciate the beauty of them.

Lauren the real masks can sure be scary, people seem to love to make wall hangings of them and sometimes that makes me think of death masks, shiver! But with this one, I like to think of some fancy lady holding it at a ball, such as Grace Kelly in To Catch A Thief did. Thank you for the fantastic comment!
