Hi all, I purchased this framed civil war era photo of two slave women yesterday. The vendor told me that the frame was not original to the picture, but is also of the same era. What do you think?

Interesting photograph of an African American women and girl.

While the woman on the right could have been a slave-- neither was when the photograph was originally made.

The photograph looks like late Victorian (white wicker chair and clothing) probably 1880s at the earliest/ more likely even later.

Also the photo format is not Civil War era.

Post a photograph of it out of the frame (front and back) and the actual measurements. I can narrow it down further.
