Here is a 6"H amber glass tiger face paperweight or bookend from 1978 by Viking Glass, which also came in clear and frosted versions & has orig label on back. Beside a colorful 9 1-2" bone china tiger in rainforest salad plate from the Exotic Jungle series by Fitz and Floyd from 2001

Jenni, nice pairing! The glass paperweight is rather unusual and neat. I wouldn’t think you would see many tiger paperweights.
'Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?!'
These pieces are fabulous- I don't think I've ever seen a plate with such a vivid picture painted unto it than this one, the brightness of the tiger and the pink flowers around him really do compliment him!
Ohhh Eye of the Tiger...'-)) very nice.
Super thanks everyone for the tiger love

Thanks Scott for the fabulous compliment, I do agree that F & F did a superior job on this tiger plate, perhaps because made in Indonesia they know their Bengal tigers! I esp love the orchids in there rainforest backdrop too
Malkey thank you from my heart for that generous compliment, I try to show some pretty pieces and once in awhile my subject matter is inspiring, like this cheery Carnival time of year that brightens the dull wintertime here in NY right now. Humble thanks for the kind words and right back at ya, I adore the beauties in your collection
Thank you MrsT for the sweet words, this amber tiger was a really lucky find as it is more common in the frosted uncolored glass version. You are right there are not too many tiger paperweights or figures around, and it's such a gorgeous animal
Lauren that is a wonderful quotation about tigers, I remember it from school was it by Kipling, I forget but it's lovely. Yes agree they did a wonderful job with the plate, the tiger's gaze is really intense & love the background too, always appreciate your terrific compliments
Eileen thank you for the super compliments, I sure agree you have to keep your distance from these majestic animals - we visited two HI zoos that had these Bengals, in one you had to walk into an underground natural habitat cave & I would not go, but the other had a chickenwire fencing which was nice for both the visitor and the animal, we got to see two of them pretty up close and their eyes are mesmerizing
Thanks Recordmantime, I love that song Eye of the Tiger, and you are right all you see here are those riveting eyes lol! Really appreciate the kind comment
You better keep a close eye on that tiger as he will eat the animals in your zoo full of collectibles.I never knew Viking made anything like this.Very Nice.
Lol jb will try to keep him near my other wild beasts to keep the rest safe! Love your comment & really glad you enjoyed this, the love always super appreciated & thanx for my morning smile :)

Hoot thank you so much for the love and bringing back this tiger post, this is one of my personal favorites as I was very lucky to find this flat Viking paperweight in gorgeous amber since that was mainly made in a clear frost glass, it's a heavy piece I will put in my next animal cabinet - glad you liked the duo!
Many thanks Roycroft for the kind praise & love, sorry I just noticed it I don't get email notices when comments go on my posts, so unless I backtrack a few pages I often miss appreciative comments like yours, I'm so grateful for your thoughtfulness
Thanks all for the love
