I don't normally take any notice of china floral brooches, but this one really caught my eye. It is marked with a Royal Worcester backstamp from 1932, which surprised me as I thought it looked more mid century. I couldn't see any damage at first, but looking at the photos there is a couple of chips off the small blue flowers under the rose. I don't think I'd dare wear it, as there is tremendous depth to the flowers, and it's a miracle the large rose hasn't been damaged.
Such a beautiful china brooch, love those pastel colors & the pink rose is gorgeous, reminds me of a cake frosted rose
I have a few of these brooches and earrings as well, but I have never worn any of them for the same reason. Mine live in a glass covered table and are pretty to look at but not to touch. Isn't it amazing (or rather terrible) how photos show even the smallest damage?
Wow, that's really beautiful Adele!!
So unusual. You're so right, The center flower is usually the first one to take a hit. Great condition on this lovely find.
Beautiful!
