I really like the shape of this sterling silver brooch but have no idea when it dates from. It looks a bit art nouveau to me? I don't know what the stones are and what the hallmark is. It looks like PT in a type of shield? Somebody said it looks Scandinavian. Can anyone shed any light? Would love to know more...

It's lovely, and it does have an arts and crafts look about it, but in those days it would have been stamped Silver, not 925. That makes me think it's a modern piece. I've had a quick google for a maker but haven't found anything.

Could you post a photo of the whole of the back of the brooch so we can see the hinge and clasp please?

Thanks Pebble. I didn't know this. Thanks for sharing.

I have just uploaded a picture of the back of the brooch with the hinge and clasp.

Would love to know what date it is!

      Jugendstil maybe.

I think the letters that we see beside 925 it say "PAT" for Patented, so that say you should have some other mark somewhere, on the edge, pin & clasp.
I agree with pebble for the silver marking, but the "Pat" is trigger something different, this is just my 2 cents
      Lovely brooch, modern or not.

      Thank you Alan2310
I have had a good look all over the brooch and can't find any other marks unfortunately.

Thank you to everyone for the kind words and likes ????

      Thank you Vetraio50

I don't know much about Jugenstil but this is interesting. I have looked into Danish silverware and it is reminiscent of the work of Georg Jensen. What I particularly like about it is the contrast between the modernist shaped slightly geometric frame and the inner softer floral organic curvier details.
