    Unusual antique wooden rule. Plotting scale on one side, mystery scale on the other. Measures from 12 to 24 so has it been cut in half, no obvious sign of this

      As I remember these were called a universal ruler and were made in 6 & 12 inch long sizes. Used by engineers and architects. They were used mostly from late 1800's to around 1950. Most were wooden and older ones have sloped edges like a bevel. Fancy expensive ones were made of ivory.
