longhaired…
(6 items)
I have had this vase for a while now and have no idea who made it. It bares some similarities to Oertel but is not signed. I am going to Passau in a couple of weeks time, which I am hopeful might shed some more light on the manufacture of this vase, but am hopeful that the extensive knowledge of Bohemian glass on this site may be able to provide some pointers. The vase is acid etched and enamelled, there is evidence that there were probably gold bands around the top and bottom which have rubbed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Salomon Reich Krasno?
Ivonne thanks for your comment. Stylistically I can see similarities, but in terms of construction and process I think my vase is very different to the Krasno examples I have found. I will however keep a look out for Salomon Reich pieces in future as some were absolutely gorgeous and I would love to own.

In the home page, when I see this vase and click to see it, I expect seeing Fritz Heckert in your description, this my 2 cents.

Thanks Malkey.
Thanks for your comment Alan. It is funny how different eyes see different things, I can't see the Fritz Heckert similarity at all. The closest I can find in terms of technique is a Steinschonau bowl on page 15 of Das Bohmische Glas Band VI another Steinschonau vase on P71 and several Oertel vases in the same book. I guess I'm really hoping that somewhere there is a picture in a contemporary publication of an identical vase. I don't ask for much.
