This Murano vase is one of only two things that I wasn't able to resist over the past few months. The quality of this piece was obviously very good. It sat in an upscale thrift shop for several weeks before the price was cut to $4.98 and I paid somewhat less for it with my veteran's discount. It is an example of the filigrana technique by an unidentified Murano glassmaker. It is 12" high and about 8" in diameter with a slight lavender tint. The bottom is ground flat, but the bottom and pontil were then polished. This vase was a good learning experience for me as I did not know much about Murano glass before pulling the trigger on it. I would appreciate any opinions as to who who made it. Here are a couple of YouTube videos which demonstrate the technique used to make it.
