Obviously Supertest was an old Canadian Gas Company and seems to be a pretty rare sign to find in any condition these days. The Company started in 1923 and was finally bought by B/P in 1971. They changed their logo a few times and each time got a little less fancy. This is one of the earlier styles but not the earliest. We have 3 different degins of the same sign in the Lakesides Storage Museum. The cool Maple leaf logo makes it a very beautiful sign. We got this and a smaller one from the Canadian side of the Great Lakes and it was a pain to get.
I think it looks good in the Lakeside Storage collection even tho it's not out in front where we wanted to put it. We may move it as time passe?
What a cool sign:)
Trey,
Thx. We love having a variety and this is one of the better ones we've found. Got it off of Facebook. Pain to get stuff out of Canada!
Trey,
The Supertest was sign no 205 on poles at Lakeside!!! That includes a couple on Shepard's poles which are more rare than straight poles of hangers
WOWZA !!! 205 !!!!
Trey,
It's true that we have a lot of duplicates in the Sign Forest because we buy the signs we like. Can't have too many Texacos! Great signs are great signs no matter how many u have! I'll never forget driving a backroad in nowhere Idaho and seeing about 5 Barnhanger 6' Texacos on a fence! Blew our minds! Awesome!
