Would you like a brooch that was a questioned an older lady asked me two weeks ago when I helped her carrying boxes to her vehicle? Who will refuse a brooch right... so I said "Yes". She then hands over many brooches and I would like to share them one at a time. She doesn't know the history of them. I am going to assume this is a cameo type of a brooch. It weighed 1.45 oz. and I believe it is rested in an onyx stone. What is so interesting on this one is the goldtone color as well the thickness. I believed once upon a time this is a pendant. This is what I know so far. I know there's many of you who knows brooch more than I do. Therefore...please educate one more time and thank you.

These glass cameos began to be made after WWII in what was then West Germany & there is no reason to believe the design has gone out of production. You will find this lady in every color, cameo & intaglio, right- & left-facing. She has been exported everywhere & used in jewelry from many different makers. This combination brooch/pendant appears to have a maker's mark on the back, which perhaps another CWer will recognize.

@cameosleuth...thank you for the info. I am also curious if the symbol in the back is a maker's mark. I can zoom it but still hard to see.
