Cool Tri-ang Ferrari GT 250 Berlinetta

I saw the Triang Scalextric in Collector's Weekly for the first time and loved it outright, bid on the item and won it. The rear end is remarkable. To me it somehow says 'late 40's and 50's design'. And it's incorporated in a sports racing car by Ferrari. How COOL is that? This is a restoration project. The Minimodels Ltd registered and launched the SCALEX trade mark, which introduced electric motors in 1956 and donned the SCALEX elecTRIC name that is known, today. This enabled people to finally race each other on rubber tracks and with the use of hand controllers. In 1958 the company was purchased by Tri-ang and with their knowledge of plastics introduced molded bodies to the cars and were able to produce complete race sets. Production moved to ROVEX and cars were also produced in Spain, France, Australia, Mexico and even in Russia to satisfy export demands. Particular overseas issues are valuable. This particular car was produced in the UK during the 1960-1971 Tri-ang era prior to being sold to ROVEX.
