I saw this very sparkly brooch today, and had to have it! It wasn't till I took some photos of it, that I realised it was really dirty! It's had a bit of a wash now and is now even more shiny! It is made in 2 parts, the top oval stones are fixed to the rectangular stones base by 2 rings. It has an Art Deco look to it and the stones are fixed by clasps. No idea of age or maker, but it is very nicely made. The last picture shows it before I washed it.
Very pretty!
That 2 ring construction is very indicative of Schreiner. And they made less over the top pieces unsigned for certain dress manufacturers. I would suggest you consult a Schreiner book or expert. You might have unsigned Schreiner. Great find.
That's really intersting plein-air-painter, I will try and find out more about Schreiner brooches. I've looked online, but not found a brooch like this one. I did find a lovely looking book about Shreiner brooches, so I may treat myself to one!
