I just picked this up yesterday. I'm not sure of the circa or even the country of origin. It appears to have a pineapple logo carved into the side. Any info would be appreciated.
Sorry about the sideways images!
Tea pot warming bucket. Common to the Chinese.
Thank you fhrjr2. It will fit in well with the rest of my decor (rustic lol). Do you have any tricks to finding the circa?
To be totally honest I think it is a reproduction and quite vintage but not yet what I would call an antique. A number of years ago there was a company here in the U.S.A that was making them along with other types of wooden buckets. I believe they ended their run of buckets and went to something like wooden wall art. The real Chinese ones were also painted red but would have had a more Asian design on the front. This one is certainly a keeper because many folks tired of them and just threw them away or refitted them to use for a magazine holder or even a waste basket.
Thanks again!
