Beautiful Italian opal art glass candle holder. Designed by Ercole Barovier for Barovier & Toso, circa 1948 Murano, Italy. Fine Neo-Classical modernist design. Decorated with large applied opal leaves and gold twisted stems and flowers. It rests on six leaf-shaped feet.

Unsigned. Broken pontil. Ground and polished feet.

The "Barocchi" series of 1948 is one of the first post-war collections produced by Barovier and Toso in which models with variations were presented. "Barocchi" translates to "Baroque".
