I'm looking for help in identifying this maker trademark on my Art Deco clock, which I think is French. The trademark on the glass is a leaping gazelle or antelope. The clock is a black marble stand with bronze holders, in which is slotted an ornately carved or etched tropical scene of palm trees and ferns on peach glass. In front of the peach glass clock backdrop is a leaping bronze panther - so it has a 3 D effect. Anyone recognize the maker's mark?
May be a newer production, very nice.
Nope, it's the real thing. Bought it in Paris antique store about 35 years ago. Someone yesterday told me it's by Paris maker Fini and made in 1930s.
Your clock was made by MARPA a French clock company, there is little info available on this company, their trademark was a leaping Gazelle, the name appears on their marble and alabaster clock faces and may feature said leaping gazelles as ornamentation. This clock dates from the early to mid 1920's. Instead of the name clocks such as these bear the manufactures mark.
