It has been some time since I last posed an item. I have been just too busy.
I hope my friends here on CW can help me with this vase. I believe it has some age to it. I was thinking around 1970's - give or take a bit. I also have a feeling that it could be European but I have nothing to base this idea on.
The vase is big and rather impressive. It is 12 inches tall and the base measures a bit less than 7 inches by 3 inches. I believe it is glass but could also be crystal.
The top and bottom are finely polished.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for looking:)
Really pretty vase, love the ribbed effect
Thanks for your comment, Newfld. I saw one just like it a few month ago but didn't buy it because there was a big chip in the rim (someone else still wanted it enough to buy it). I was a bit disappointed because I really liked it. So when I found this one in near mint condition, I had to have it:)
It koojs familiar but cannot place it right now, great score !~
Many thanks for your comment, PhilDMorris:)
Mary, you are absolutely right, it does look like a building block. I think it would be a nice idea to group several vases like this in different sizes.
After looking at some vases from Pottery Barn and even more from Restoration Hardware, I have a feeling that my vase might be more recent. As long as it is not a new one from China, I am fine with that. I still hope that someone will be able to identify my vase:)
Many thanks, Newfld, SEAN68, and vetraio50:)
Thanks a lot, PhilDMorris and fortapache:)
