Arabia’s Pastoraali plate has an organic pattern that Esteri Tomula designed in 1965. Pastoraali features male and female figures among flowers, leaves and birds : a pastoral scene in vibrant blue, silk-screen printed on the porcelain I’ve had a Pastoraali vase in the past and had not seen anything more in the wild for years until a few months ago. A cheese board I suppose. It blends in well with the Finnish table setting. They have re-issued some of the Pastoraali pieces but not a round cheese platter like this one.

I agree with the pattern comment JBINGHAM. It works better on a flat surface like this than on the vase. I regret having sold that vase though.
