I bought this bracelet at an estate sale. I am having difficulty reading what it stamped on the back of it. It has an interesting hook closure which I have not seen before. I think it is sterling silver (I was able to clean it with silver polish) with glass leaves. Please let me know if you recognize it or know when it was produced. Everyone on here is so knowledgeable. Thank you.

      Very pretty!

I think it says Mexico under the 925 and to the left. The 925 stamp means it is sterling silver (or should be!). I can't make out the three letters to the right of Mexico but they are probably the makers initials. Sorry I can't make out the word at the top but could it be Taxco? A lot of Mexican silver comes from there.

It does day Taxco. I believe it's from around the 60's maybe earlier, more towards the 50's, but not positive because I can't remember when they started marking their goods. It's 925 sterling silver. This most likely had a choker that went with it. I would have thought the green was enamel on there but anyway, I see residue of your silver polish that you need to remove before it ruins your piece. You can take a toothpick to it and gently rub it off that way or with some water and a soft toothbrush and then dry it real good getting into the crevasses with a soft cloth. I normally use a tea towel for things like this. Or should say if I ever use the polish like that. It's pretty rare if I do use it. You have to be really careful, that could easily ruin your jewelry. This has a very similar look to some Coro pieces. Very nice!

Shareurpassion -- thank you for the information. Why is it so bad to use silver polish on silver? Is it too destructive to older pieces? (I took your advice and got the excess polish off.)
