    This is a beautifully made hardwood stool with a label from Heywood Wakefield, San Francisco. I wonder if it is San Francisco made? Those have a premium value around here. I didn't know that HW had a factory here in the bay area.

      Heywood Wakefield has a very attractive web site. No factory facilities in California though. It's a one of those "I wish I had that" pieces of furniture. Looks comfortable. How high is it?

      so would that address on Howard St in SF be just a retail outlet? it seems like the cost of bringing furniture all the way from the east coast at that time would be somewhat prohibitive, which is why most furniture was made here back then.

      the stool is about 24" tall.
