    Here’s a charming watercolor ... can anyone translate the German at the bottom? (Online translation only gave me “When I think of home...” I’m not certain even that much of the translation is correct.) ALSO the artist signature/ monogram is clearly written but I can’t figure out the letters, what do you think the artist’s name is? Thanks everyone!

      Heimweh nach Köln. Homsick for Cologne in the Cologne dialect a song of 1936 by Willi Ostermann.

      Wow everyone ... thanks all for your info! The painting has a lot of wonderful meaning, I’m grateful to know about it. (It pays to look in the dark corners of antique store basements!) I just cleaned it and overlayed a clean white matte. Did anyone notice the marker at his feet? 337? THANKS AGAIN.
