A birthday gift to myself, this pair of Victorian vaseline glass jugs with stoppers was too tempting to resist.
Made from a pale bluish - green glass with a swirling opalescent stripes, they have applied handles & matching stoppers in clear blue.
They are around 20.5 - 21 cm tall (slight variations between them), with a rounded, four sided form featuring pushed in sides. Underneath they have neatly polished out pontil marks. The stoppers have been ground to fit - as one jug has a much narrower opening than the other.
Excellent glow under UV light!
Quality looks high - perhaps Harrach?
Happy Birthday to you....Happy Birthday to you....and many more....

Planted some more today...watch this space!
Lovely. Nice that they're blue uranium glass.
Thanks also, Vintagefran, & yes, it's nice to find a less common colour variation. In person they are quite mutable, sometimes more blue, sometimes greenish. I also enjoy the difference in the stoppers, both in terms of size & that one has a cloudy swirl in it. The subtle joys of hand made glass!
