This bowl/ashtray is 7" x 5.5" x 2.5". I think it is an example of the Foglia d'Oro and Foglia d'Argento techniques, apparently made in several layers in Murano, Italy. Just my best guess. It is not signed or labeled. Sorry for the glare in the images, I am still adjusting to seasonal light changes. I would appreciate comments from them as knows what is what. Leaving it a mystery awaiting comments.
I'm a novice where Murano glass is concerned but this piece has been at a local thrift ship for over a year and I finally decided to buy it after slobbering all over it on numerous occasions. Actually, I used the fact that it had been sitting in a display cabinet so long to make an offer of about 75% of the asking price and the manager accepted my offer.
Gorgeous bowl, I love the coloration & your photos are great - I think the ruffled shell like shape is most likely Murano
@Newfld - Thanks, Jenni! It is a pretty one. Murano has been the consensus. I don't know why it sat there for so long. It was in a glass cabinet at the thrift shop since I retired in February 2018 and who knows for how long before that.
Thanks for loving my ash tray!

Thanks for loving my murano piece sklo42, vetraio50 and Weandocin54!
@keramikos - Thanks for your comment and for loving my murano piece. The ash tray scenario was somewhat tongue in cheek. I was wondering, when I wrote it, who would actually do that. I guess someone with enough money to buy the finest cigars might. Probably would....
Back in the 50's and 60's, nearly everyone was smoking. It was the cool thing. Murano was cranking out ashtrays. Yours is definitely an ashtray, but now they are also considered bowls or candy dishes. I just posted one, same exact situation as yours. No one puts smokes in them anymore, buy a bag of Hersheys Kisses, those are the new cool.
@Deano - mmmmmmm, chocolate.... mmmmmm.....
