Ok, so here is another piece that I need some help on. This fur clip is marked on the underside but has some scratching and makes it difficult to read top word. The top last three letters look like aux and then under that looks like Divers. There is a hallmark on other side that looks like a bird in a diamond.. Any ideas?
Hi
MrsT
I believe what you have here call Duette brooch, it’s appear that one identical missing, I use to have one post here, but my post was gone, I will look later today to find my brooch and repost for you.
Nice one.
Alan
Beautiful fur clip, that large green rhinestone is a standout amidst the lovely white stones, and great arrowhead type shape
This fur clip has a very nicely set Art Deco design !~
Hi I'm pretty sure that diamond mark with a bird is a French hallmark for silver. Have you tested the metal? It is probably sterling. And the other stamping is probably French. I think your piece is fabulous Art Deco French piece, the home of Art Deco. Really gorgeous. You didn't say how big it is. If it is smaller, like Allen2310 says, it would have had a twin to make a pair. If it is fairly large, it would have been worn singly at the base of a plunging v-neck. This was really poplar in 1936, so check movies from that time to see it worn that way.
Alan, thank you for the lovely comment. Let me know if you get yours posted :)
Jenni, I thought so too. It really like that green and white combo. Thanks
Phil, appreciate your kind comment!
Plein-air-painter, thank you so much for that info. This piece is about 1.5 inches long. I have not tested metal, so I am hoping t is silver. Appreciate it
