I would think this dates from the very late 1800s to early 20th century.
As a Civil War collector, I often see these erroneously identified as Civil War items-- usually as Chaplains hats.
One hat that I personally looked at was an M.C. Lilley piece. Based on the manufacturer it could be dated somewhere between 1882 and 1925. Your hat looks very similar, so I would say it is close to that same age range.
