My wife and I visited this small town in Northern California 35 years ago. Went back this past summer and I’m happy to say nothing has changed. The homes are from the 1800’s and they are restored to original condition. Each home has a plaque dating the home and it’s history. Just an amazing little town. No air conditioning in the homes or major hotels. The climate doesn’t require it. Beautiful architecture and no fast food restaurants to ruin the atmosphere. Way too much to list of all the sites and things to do.

I always wanted to live in a house like that! I guess I missed out because now I am too rational and don't want to deal with all the possible repairs and upkeeping. I guess I am getting old. Years ago we visited my husband's ancestral house in St. Augustine. It is now a museum. I wish I knew what happened over hundreds of years...

We travel to St Augustine every year. It’s the oldest town in the USA. Hot and humid compared to Pacific Grove but still very nice place to visit in February it’s a little cooler then.

Beautiful Homes :) freiheit my wife has an ancestral house in St Augustine too and you can take a tour through it with a guide. She also has family members who attended the old school house.
