Amphora, Ditmar-Urbach, and Eichwald are Czechoslovakian ceramics manufacturers that are pretty well known but, the history and identification of Czechoslovakian interwar ceramics is every bit as murky as it is for the glass. Like the glass industry, there were dozens, if not hundreds, of involved companies - most of which are unknown today. Adding to the confusion, often the same shape will be found with different markings.
Shown here are two vases - same identical shape, shape identical size. Both are 4 5/8" (11.7 cm) tall with a 4" (10 cm) diameter. Both have the same pointy little applied handles. Each has a distinct underside marking. As far as I can tell neither mark (or this shape) has been attributed to a particular manufacturer.
