Came across this page recently, I had never seen this particular assortment of interwar Czech export glass, from what I have studied and found over the last few years, in images or in my own collecting, these are all by W. Kralik. That is my opinion, not necessarily shared by other collectors.

This has never bothered me, to each his own. I don't need supporting. Never have. Go my own way, with what I believe and do what I find appropriate at the time. Does this mean I don't change my mind, no. We all change in time depending on what we have learned and accepted. This is my philosophy, good to think about during this Easter Holiday.

Many of my fellow collectors and friends (yes, I do have them) have allowed me to use their images, I don't use them here anymore, because it causes conflict and questions my right to do this on this site. For this post, I will make an exception.

HAPPY HOLIDAY TO ALL, as what you deem it is about.

New: I have modified image 1 to show a close up screen shot of it, with small red lines to point out several pieces of Czech glass that had not been shown before in the Butler ads we have from the Museum's compendium publication. This is dated 1928, which means that they had to be selling it before we thought they were, and it had nothing to do with the economy of post Depression years.

That is troubling in a way, to understand that this glass was being sold at low prices in the USA in 1928, a year that seemed a culmination of sorts for this category of export, by the increased volume and production of many new producers in Europe such as Germany's WMF.

New: I have changed image 4, for a piece I think is also in this ad, if other collectors feel that this is not 100% Kralik, I am not that adamant about it, certainly possible it is 90%. I feel these were in the Kralik economy line of glass, those smaller pieces under 8 inches with only two layers of glass fabrication, spatter on clear for instance, that is what my new image represents.

I plan to add a few of these on my website Kralik shape and decor pages, because they are not documented, I received a very enthusiastic compliment from an Ebay glass seller recently, as she was able to identify much of her Czech glass on my site.
