I finally received the 200 crystals I needed to finish this 3 month long project. They arrived this afternoon and I couldn't wait to see the transformation, I did manage to salvage some originals a few months ago but most were missing. They make up the first row of 75 around the canopy. Everything down from there is new except for the wonderful 2 bead and orb finial at the bottom. I don't envy the electrician when it come time to hang it. I'd hate to have to remove everything that took me about 2 hours to hang but it is quite heavy. We shall see. There may have been double swags of crystal buttons between the lights around the canopy. There are little finials with holes in them between each light. I've seen them online with similar fixtures. Nothing like gilding the lily, always room for a bit more sparkle. -Mike-
SIMPLY GORGEOUS!!! <cheers><applause>
Taking a bow...thank you kind sir. :)
Absolutely Brilliant! I really want a chandelier in my bedroom. It certainly looks stately, and well done you.
What a glorious statement that chandelier makes ! Wow and how wonderful you found the crystals to replace the ones missing .You have to marvel at it I imagine when lit up !
Thanks Gillian and Manni for the "loves" and compliments...yes it makes quite a statement. Found the crystals on Amazon. Finding the quantity and the old style brass pins was the hardest part. Most today tend to be what's called a " bow tie" attachment. Nice but too modern looking. Have to hunt up some strands of crystal button swags as well.
Beautiful, but I would hate to have to dust and keep it clean.
I looks magnificent lit......chapeau!!!
Wow! It's really nice but I'm glad it's not mine! Cleaning it would take me too long and it would bug me every time I walked by it if I didn't make it shine! Then again, I've got tons of stuff on shelves, so I guess it's all the same!
When it comes to cleaning I mean.
