Hi everyone! We're new to the group, and are interested in finding out info about this machine. It's a Universal Deluxe precision sewing machine. Model CB. I picked it up today at a yard sale for $5 and it seems to be in great shape, and working condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

That's a beauty! And welcome to CW. This is a great group of good people sharing their knowledge freely and generously and you won't find a better group anywhere else. I've been around here for a longer time than I thought, and I've very grateful for that. I've learned so much about so many different items, it's really incredible.

Getting to you machine, you could call it a workhorse. From 1930's. Have you oiled it before you ran it? It's important, but don't over oil it. Just like a car, too much is worse than not enough.

That's a dressmakers machine, commercial sewing machine. They came in many different colors. If I remember correctly, mine was the same color. I have more of a heavy duty one now but all you need to do is google the name and put the word vintage in front of the brand name of your machine. then you will see quite a few sites that will give you toms of info.

      What will you be making?
