I got one of these for Christmas in '64. Crazy Clock was released by Ideal Toy Co. as a follow up to their very successful Mouse Trap released in '63. Surely the vast majority of you had a Mousetrap or at least familiar with it. Crazy Clock has the same Rube Goldberg theme, with a series of outlandish overly complex sequences to accomplish a simple task, in this case arousing a sleeper. It has cards, no board, for game play instead of the Mouse Trap board game style. In '65 Ideal released a Gone Fishing Game, by then the original Mouse Trap/Goldberg fad had died down.
I got a good deal on this and it's complete which is a plus on these type items. The box has some issues, but all the original parts, paper work, inserts are present.
I never had a Mousetrap as a kid. I remember seeing one a friend had got for Christmas and it would hang up a lot IMO. I'm not out to anger any Mousetrap lovers, but it failed to impress me. The Crazy had a longer, reliable more complex action than Mousetrap. Give me some feedback, did y'all have problems with your MouseTrap's or was it my incompetence?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Mr. Durable toyed rebel ,, it’s pretty funny what you did
Comment with describing the Beatles as gear
And then putting mouse trap on with the gears

Thanks Bobby, Crazy Clock was not advertised any where near the level of Mouse Trap was. It's obscure to most unless you had one.
I knew you would know that Vinyl. Your watchful eyes would not let it pass unnoticed, so thusly it will be written and remembered.

I wonder if it worked. I had Silly Safari and the trap thing didn't work so we just left that part out. I still have the animals.

This game functioned well once you learned some tricks during set up. That's one thing that impressed me about it. So many toys never functioned as well they did on the commercials. I never had a Silly Safari, so I can't fully appreciate how well it worked. I remember the commercials for it well and now the commercial jingle will be in my head for days:"Let's go on a Silly Safari, Lots of fun a Silly Safari.........
