I believe that came out of King Tut's tomb.

I know Daddy Bigbucks is joking but what about ho2cultcha? Are you serious and when was the victorian period?

The style referred to as Egyptian Revival appeared in Europe in the 1820s following Napoleon's exploration of Egypt. There was a resurgence of the style in the 1880-90s, and again with the discovery of King Tut's tomb in 1922. After that, as tourism increased, Middle Eastern manufacturers also exploited the style.
This is a very nice item that probably needs a hands-on assessment. Photo of the underside may be helpful.

Of course you've looked, but is there anything written on the paper in the inkwell?
