I found this large print in a huge frame yesterday at a second-hand shop in Berkeley, CA. By the looks of the backing paper, it appears to have been framed in the 1940s or maybe 1950s, but i really don't know. The frame is 22 inches by 16 inches and the print is 8.5 inches by a little under 6 inches. it's 'tipped-in' and i believe it's a chromolithograph. i'd love to get some more info about it. thank you!

      What does its tipped-in mean?
    2. ho2cultcha ho2cultcha, 6 years ago
it was printed separately from the background and glued at the top - hanging loosely on the matte board/background. something like that...

It’s a pretty print. Do you think it had a glass front and was broken?
    4. ho2cultcha ho2cultcha, 6 years ago
thanks Mrstyndall. it still has a glass front. ??

The dress looks like those in the 1810s... so it should be from that time.
