Just purchased this silver cuff-style watch band; it's older, very heavy, with a snake design on each side, and turquoise stones. Appears to be Navajo or Zuni. I haven't been able to identify this hallmark - an M with a wavy line over it. Most of the other snake items I see are made by Effie Calavaza, but this does not have her mark, and it's older. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Hi there. I've not seen a mark like this that I can recall and when I looked on a particular site, linked for you, I didn't see it there either. I looked under both M and W. Nothing, but that does not mean end all. Some times, many did change their makers marks too. I agree, this appears old to me also but many people did have snakes in their designs. Thanks for the reply. I did find that site, and looked at about every other site there was on the internet as well. I may just take it with me the next time I go to Colorado Springs - quite a few Native American jewelry dealers there that may have seen this mark.
I don't see an actual hallmark....and it doesn't really seem to be silver..more like Alpaca.

According to the website art-amerindian.com (https://www.art-amerindien.com/hallmarks/m-american-indian-jewelry-marks.htm), the mark in question belongs to Mike Simplicio - Zuni.
I've found this website helpful when seeking to identify Native American maker's marks on Native American jewelry (primarily Sterling Silver).
