Produced from approx 1937-1942, this is a common piece found in some colors like the ones shown above. They range from 7" to a very large 14" (Rare) 9" is the most common size and tends to be more popular than the other sizes. They are always unmarked. the late 30s ones are sometimes stoneware instead of the clay compound.
Interesting fact: The one I have is the common 9" size, but in cobalt blue, a color i have not been able to find anywhere online or in the reference books. However, the glaze was utilized in the late 30s and the piece i have is the correct clay color and weight. With these details, I have come to the conclusion that the piece i found, (obtained at a goodwill for 3.99) is rare. The blue you see in the first picture is not the cobalt. The cobalt is a very dark blue, almost black.
