I found this old dress clip at a furniture thrift shop. They have a case of jewelry on the side. This dress clip is not signed, but does a number impressed on the top of the clip (62). The glass flowers look great, but all the rhinestones are pretty much dark. This dates from the late 1930s. It measures 2 and 3/4" tall and 1" wide at the top. I love the old clips. Thanks for stopping by.

      Hi Eileen,
I think the number is the identification number for the stone setter. I know both Mazer and Trifari used those numbers. Maybe others did also.
I would like to change out the rhinestone stones but they might be bead set which would mean it would be difficult to get the old stones out. I'm still thinking about it.
Hi Broochman, I thought it was Trifari when I saw it in the case. Too bad it is not signed:)
Thanks everyone for the loves and interest.

Hi Eileen, I'm sure you aware that in most of the old pieces the pave stones are glued in. However, in some cases the little bead of metal that looks like a fake prong at the side of the setting was pushed over in a quasi prong like situation. It really holds the rhinestones in. I'm pretty sure the little stones in the center of the fruit salads are just glued in but the pave section at the top has such deep set stones and it looks like that's where it might be 'bead set'. Not really sure at about this, just know it was used. Will let you know it I ever experiment with this.
All those stones are so little I don't know if I could replace them! Best, Maureen
