Old black ring ka bar given to me by a friend that hadn't served but knew that i had. Ive had it for probably 30yrs and just today was wondering about how old it must be. Hoping someone can give me a general idea. Plan on keeping it to give one of my sons.

There should be a manufacturer's name on it which should help in dating it. I am thinking that is a post WWII model.

Olean NY means it is from the original manufacturer of the Ka-Bar. Several other companies made the Ka-Bar under license.
