This is the last of my Rose Bowl blades from the last flea market. This is another case wearing buying vintage is cheaper than buying new. These are still being made and this costs less than a new one.
The Ontario Knife Co. is the same company that made the Ka-Bar as in the original Ka-Bar. The 1942 on the sheath is a bit of a give away that it is from WWII. Also of note on the scabbard is stenciled Vartaman Shoe Co. Everyone was making war material is WWII.
The blade is 18" and t=rather sturdy. It has a full tang which means the blade goes the full length of the handle. I was outside causing destruction with it and it was great fun.
Thank you very much Thomas. I recall it well.

Nice tool!!! I have a friend who's in the landscape biz. He was pulled over by the Police who noticed a machete in his truck with his other landscaping stuff!! Asked him what he had that weapon for???? Sometimes a tool is just a tool!!!
