This is a décor which appears on one of the Welz production sheets from the 1920's which have been posted here by Craig. This vase is missing its flower frog and however odd a vase with a flower frog may seem there is at least one more Welz spatter vase that comes with a metal frog. See link below.
I do not own the piece in image four but am posting it as I'm guessing that metal mounts on spatter glass items are not that common.

May be I do, Phil. I added the link above simply as another Welz vase with a frog. It looked different.....the three segments looked different and it looked more slender. But perhaps it's a different mould made to the same design. I only have photos to go on as my glass is still in the garage...... There is only a cm. between them in height!
Ooops - yeah, I missed that link - you're probably right others do look more slender as you say.
I think it's a moot point, Phil, until the pair come out of storage and I can actually compare them.
