Picked up a loose Hubley #1517 Jeep with Speedboat set and a #1712 Jeep Surfer in the box. Both were cataloged in '65. Gabriel bought Hubley in '66 and the individual Jeep Surfer was cataloged at least until '71 in a repro Gabriel/Hubley catalog I have. I'm mot sure if Gabriel cataloged the boat set. I don't collect many Gabriel era items and don't have much info on what Hubley stuff Gabriel continued to offer.
The jeep with the boat set was missing the surfboard, roll bar and fishing rod but otherwise nice shape. I got a good deal on a Jeep Surfer in the box. The only way to find a fishing rod is to buy one in the box. The fishing rod has a small plastic pin to secure it to the jeep, I mean a ridiculously small pin. If you pick up or move the jeep the rod will fall off, unless you pick it up gently. I've NEVER seen a loose jeep that still had the fishing rod. All Hubley trailers I've seen are yellow for the older set with the Buick Station Wagon or white with the jeep set. This is the only aqua trailer I've ever seen. Also the boats usually have white hulls and the deck either red or aqua. These sets are hard to find in general, they were only made the last year of Hubley.

    Thanks,
    Bill

Yes getting all the pieces/parts often requires getting one in the box. It's that way with a lot of the Marx figures like Mike Hazzard.

It's fishing weather, Thomas, sounds good to me.
You are SO correct about getting the box to get every piece. The few Mike Hazards I've seen loose, don't have 50% of the pieces. I'm sure it's that way with the rest of the Marx figures.

Nicefice, the rod probably would be lost the first day(I know I would have lost it). A missing rod deducts about 20% from the value.
