This collection is proving quite difficult, mind you having said that it comes down to what I can afford and of course availability. There are plenty of brass keys out there but I am trying to collect solid silver or carated gold ones. Another point is that the real precious metal keys are on a lot of occasions are still with their original precious pocket watches or have been paired up with ones of similar values.
This one I picked off of ebay in a job lot for next to nothing. It is 9ct gold and has a grey rather dull glass finial but still beautiful in its own way.

You realize that if you start collecting pocket watch keys, eventually you will have to collect the watches to match up to the keys.
